Announcing   CSJ  HONOR  CORDS!

Are you a CSJ member who is graduating soon?

SPLASH OUT IN THE NAME OF SOCIAL JUSTICE WHEN YOU WALK!

CSJ now has a way to order a CSJ honor cord for you to add to your graduation regalia.

DEMONSTRATE  YOUR  SOCIAL  JUSTICE  IDENTITY  WITH  YOUR  CSJ  HONOR  CORD

All graduating student members can purchase their CSJ Honor Cord through CSJ's partnership with our selected vendor. You will purchase your cord on their website and it will be mailed directly to you.  A single cord is only $4 plus shipping, which is estimated at $6 to $10. CSJ Chapters may wish to place a bulk order for cords and the vendor will offer a discount to you. The vendor requires a 3-week minimum lead time on orders (4-6 weeks on bulk orders), so plan ahead and place your order early so that you will be sure to receive it in time for your graduation date!

ACCESS ORDERING INFORMATION FOR YOUR CSJ CORD HERE! Requires entering an Access Code which is available to CSJ members using the instructions below.

These cords should be ordered only by active CSJ members, therefore we are providing the link to the vendor's website behind a members-only access code. You can find the access code in any of these ways:
  1. If you have joined CSJ directly, rather than through the ACA, please log in to your account on this website here. Once you're logged in, click the tab that says "HonorCordCode" and the access code for this page will be displayed to you there.
  2. If you have joined CSJ through ACA, please go to ACA Connect and the access code is displayed on this post in the CSJ Community (you may have to subscribe to the community first in order to access that page)
  3. If you cannot find the access code through one of those methods, you may reach out to [email protected] and we'll help you out.
Please note, CSJ has set up this arrangement with the vendor, however we do not take responsibility for lost, misplaced, or late orders. Please contact the vendor directly for any customer service inquiries.

FAQ
  1. Why did you set it up with the vendor in this way?
As an all-volunteer organization, we do not have the capacity to handle order fulfillment and shipping for these individual orders. We were thrilled to find this vendor who offers this drop-ship model. Their business is selling cords to graduates, and they are going to give you a much better experience than CSJ ever could! We are not manufacturers and retail sellers. This gives you access to getting a cord in ways we never could do otherwise.

  2. Will we be able to get cords at any of your in-person conferences like at ACA or the next CSJ in-person conference?
We're working on this option but right now it is not likely to happen for 2026. Please go ahead and purchase your own cord through the vendor if you are wanting to get a cord for your upcoming graduation ceremony.

  3. Why do we have to buy our own cords? Why can't CSJ purchase them on our behalf as part of our member benefits?
We wish we could do this, however our membership fees, especially for student memberships, are incredibly low. We also do not charge any fees for chapters, whether at application or annually, which is unusual for organizations like ours. We are operating on a shoestring budget and we just don't have any wriggle room to cover the expense of these cords.

  4. Do I have to be a member of a CSJ chapter in order to get my own cord?
No! Any CSJ member in good standing is invited and encouraged to get their cord. If you are part of a CSJ chapter, you could request that they place a bulk order (they would qualify for a discount!) and either do a fundraiser, get your school to pay for them, solicit a donor, or pool funds and place the order on behalf of all of your CSJ chapter members at your school. Chapters at schools that are in the same general geography could also coordinate a group order together to save a little money. Your chapter will need to manage the logistics and payment for this themselves.

  5. Does the vendor have good practices? Are the cords manufactured overseas?
Based on the due diligence that we performed, we understand that the vendor uses U.S.-sourced materials and manufactures in Canada.

  6. Canada? Does that mean I will have to pay tariffs?
No! We checked on this too! The vendor has informed us that there will be no tariffs or duties (they are USMCA compliant), and we've been told there are no sales taxes for U.S. states.

  7. How fast will I get my cord after I place the order?
You'll need to check the vendor's website, though note that this is a seasonal business for them and they get very very busy in fulfilling orders when the spring graduation season arrives. Their standard is to deliver within 3 weeks for single cords. Order early!

  8. What do I do if the order does not arrive?
All fulfillment and customer service questions need to be directed to the vendor. Their contact information is available once you log in to the page using the password for ordering.

  9. I can't log onto this page. It says my password is not recognized.
The access code that you will use is the same for all of our members; it is not your CSJ or ACA membership account password. Please check the instructions up above for where to find that access code.

  10. Can my friends order a CSJ cord too?
Yes absolutely, if they are active members of CSJ! We really want this available to those who have expressed their commitment to the identity of a social justice counselor through their membership in Counselors for Social Justice.

  11. I received the cord and realized that it does not say "CSJ" anywhere. It's just a cord. What gives?
In order to keep costs low and simplify the offer, we chose not to also design any type of charm or insignia. We may revisit this in the future depending on how things go with this first season of making the cords available.

  12. Do I have to get permission from my school to wear this?
Unfortunately some schools do have policies on what can be worn with graduate regalia (which is ridiculous!). You may want to check with your graduation coordination team about this if you're concerned, and if you get pushback, contact [email protected] and we will try to advocate for you. You could always add your cord to your friends and family photos before or after the ceremony if they have their knickers in a twist about it.

  13. I am so proud of representing CSJ when I walked across the stage! Can I show you some pictures?
YES!! Please send photos to [email protected] and we would be thrilled to post them! Or you can post them on your insta and tag @CSJNational in your posts and we will share them.
