Using Critical Recruitment to Support the Retention of Students of Color in Counselor Education Programs
Fri, March 31, 4:00-4:30pm, Poster Area, Program ID #571 Presented by: Linzy Andre, Alonzo Turner Description This poster introduces a new term critical recruitment, which refers to recruitment and retention strategies specifically designed to support the success of students of color through their doctoral journey. Using autoethnographic inquiry, the lived experiences of Black doctoral students will be explored to inform recruitment, support, retention and success strategies. Potential benefits of critical recruitment will be provided. |
